Nightmare on Wildrose Common

This is the year that I drop fifty. Fifty pounds. That's a lot of pounds. I'm not sure that I have the will power anymore to accomplish this. But I really really really want to.
I've never written a blog before, but I'm hoping that in doing so, I will be more able to keep the momentum going. Maybe writing this blog will hold me accountable to my plan. And maybe it will make me a better writer too.
That doesn't mean that I am giving you license to comment on what I order in a restaurant. I haven't said a word to you about all the Coke that you drink, so keep your comments to yourself (you know who you are). What this means is that I am really going to try this time. No more excuses, no more pity-parties. I have been heavy now for almost a quarter of my life. I can't bear the thought of continuing on this way.
Oh, and I had a baby this past year. A big baby. A baby so big that he stretched my tummy to the limits of what is humanly possible.
August 2010
Now that he's out and thriving in the world, my poor tummy looks like Freddy Krueger's face.
Eww.
I guess now that I'm actually looking at Freddy's face, my tummy doesn't look quite that horrifying, but you get the idea.
Yikes, that Freddy picture is sure to haunt my dreams.

  1. Good for you Kristen!! I don't know if you have an iphone or not but if you do, there is a great app called loseit that I use to food journal all of my meals to keep better track of what I'm eating.

  2. I love it!! You can totally do do this AND blog about it, and I will be your loyal reader and cheerleader. I've already added your blog to my reader! I will also be in the same boat, as I'm carrying most of the 30 lbs I'd like to lose before I turn 30... Yikes!

Lose It is a great app, it helped me lose the easiest 10 lbs of my life before I gorged on croissants on vacation and got pregnant! I should probably start using it again =)

  3. Yup. Tracking is the best way to lose. I lost 30lbs last year and the weeks I did the best, I tracked. Keeps you accountable! Bet of luck on your journey!
